Autotrilogy, The South Wests No.1 Car Detailing Company Gets a New Look!

Introduction

Autotrilogy has earned its reputation as the South West’s premier car detailing and paint protection centre, trusted by luxury brands like Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, and more. Specialising in XPEL paint protection film (PPF) and Gtechniq ceramic coatings, they are the only car detailing company with both accreditations in the region.
When Autotrilogy moved into their new premises, they required high-end, lasting signage that would reflect their commitment to quality and professionalism. We were entrusted with bringing this vision to life, and we’re proud to share how we went about creating signage that not only enhances Autotrilogy’s brand but also stands the test of time.

The Project Journey

  1. Initial Consultation From the first visit, it was clear that Damien Fricker, Autotrilogy’s owner, is passionate about excellence and has a sharp eye for detail that matches the meticulous nature of his work. As we toured the site, discussing the layout and identifying key areas for signage, it became apparent that this project would need to meet exacting standards. Working with someone who regularly deals with supercars brings a certain responsibility, and we knew that delivering anything less than perfection was not an option. Damien’s insights helped us shape a vision for signage that would resonate with his clientele and reinforce Autotrilogy’s high-end brand identity.
  2. Design and Approval After the initial site visit, our team returned with ideas for materials, layouts, and designs that would best reflect Autotrilogy’s polished aesthetic. We chose aluminium composite for its durability, fade resistance, and recyclable nature, a choice that aligned with Damien’s desire for quality and sustainability. Using black-coloured composite instead of a vinyl overlay for the background was an intentional choice—by avoiding printed backgrounds, we extended the life of the signage and prevented any risk of vinyl shrinkage over time. Once our designs and costings were presented, Damien carefully reviewed each option, selecting a combination that balanced quality and visual appeal. After a few refinements, the designs were signed off, and production could begin.
  3. Production and Quality Assurance With approved proofs in hand, we began the manufacturing process using our state-of-the-art sign-making equipment. This stage is where the physical transformation happens, from design concept to a tangible, high-quality product. We photographed the signage at various stages—printing, manufacturing, and final assembly—to capture the craftsmanship behind each piece. Before the signs left our workshop, we conducted a rigorous quality check, ensuring all elements matched the approved proofs in terms of colour, grammar, and overall finish. Each component was then carefully packed for transport to ensure it arrived on-site in pristine condition.
  4. Installation Day The day of installation was a coordinated effort. We discussed the logistics with Damien beforehand to ensure a smooth process, covering all necessary safety measures, especially for higher sections of the building. Due to fencing around the back of the premises, we used a boom-mounted lift for secure access, allowing us to reach challenging areas safely and efficiently. Photos taken during the installation show our team in action, handling the signage with the same level of precision and care Autotrilogy brings to its clients’ vehicles. A final walkthrough with Damien ensured everyone was aligned on the installation’s goals, which allowed us to proceed confidently.

Project Outcome and Client Feedback

Damien’s response was a testament to the value of detailed planning and high-quality craftsmanship.
He described the signage as “excellent” and was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail that we brought to each step of the process. He even mentioned he’d happily recommend our services to others, a compliment we’re very proud of.
For us, the ultimate reward was knowing that we’d met—and exceeded—the expectations of such a high-end brand. Autotrilogy now has signage that not only reflects their premium brand but will stand the test of time, showcasing their expertise and quality to clients for years to come.

Perforated Window Graphics

Window Graphics being printed

Also known as Contra Vision film, this type of window graphic allows the people inside the building to see out. Whilst the people outside the building can’t see in. This is due to the difference in light levels between outside and inside the building. The photo above shows the graphics being printed, and the photo below shows them installed onto the bottom five windows of their car detailing premises.

The following photographs detail the application of the graphics, as they’re aligned to the pre-cleaned panel and then applied into position. Each panel is carefully aligned in advance allowing us to install up to 18m long of graphics in one hit. After application the panels are cleaned, checked and wrapped in protective packaging ready for the day of installation.
